Phnom Penh - Monk talk!

Suasdey,

yesterday Marlena and me started our tourist tour in Phnom Penh. We wanted to see as much as possible of this wonderful city! During the day I felt more and more comfortable walking around. The TukTuk drivers always asked us if we wanted to go somewhere, especially the killing fields (because there are kind of far away), but they are not as brashy as the guys in Thailand (who really try to walk with you and keep on talking and talking and talking.....)

They just ask with a smile.....

Anyway we started our tour with the national museum, which reminded me of the airport in Kho Phangan, because it was all open.... no walls in the inner circle... so it was very warm, also inside...kkkkk

Inside of the museum there was an open air area with four little lakes.... and all the school kids playing there fed the fished.... it was such a lovely picture. Even because all the kids have to wear school uniform.

After the national museum we started to the riverfront. The citizens arranged a pretty beautiful relaxing area, because there nobody wants to sell something or wants to give u a ride.
The river (Tonle Sap) which is famous for changing its flow-direction during the raining season looks pretty dirty, but it is just muddy. Not like the one in bangkok...
After the national museum and a break at the riverfront we went to another temple which was pretty cool, because we had our first monk talk.... kkkkk he told us about the crazy colorful flag outside of the temple, which stands for buddhism.... of course, but the colors represent the reliquaries which were left over from buddhas body after his death.... one for bones, one for flesh, one for hair, one for.....

And they had this nice stone pagoda!
And a sleeping kitty....kkk

Afterwards we went to the royal palace where even today the king lives, yes Cambodia is a kingdom!

kkkkk me with the crazy snake!

And next to the silver pagoda I had the second, very long monk talk.... we talked about an hour about everything! Of course religion, facebook, studies and so on... It was so interesting to hear the point of view from a monk..... He was pretty cool, but he was as exited as I was... kkkk  He even had to study at least two different old indian languages..... He showed me one in his book..... too complicated for me.... they have 41 characters .... I was surprised, that there are so many sounds you can create, because our alphabet and the hangul alphabet is much smaller.... but they have one selection for calm speaking and one for stressful speaking....

That was the temple palace day in Phnom Penh.... In the evening we did something more relaxing....kkkk
